Students will learn the the basic skills and movements required for volleyball: movement, preparation, jumping, bumping, passing, serving, attacking, diving, and rolling. This program welcomes beginner and intermediate players and provides a variety of opportunities to practice the components of volleyball, all while having fun! Adjustments to the net and the air-pressure of the ball will be made to ensure that the program is fun and accessible for all. Acrobatic components (diving and rolls) will be practiced on mats to prevent injury. Each practice will end with a scrimmage so students can get a taste for competition!
Coach Jerome began his professional volleyball career in 1990 at just 17 years old, while also pursuing his studies in law. Playing for Marseille then Nice, Castres, and Toulouse, he finished his volleyball career and his doctorate in law in Toulouse, where he has held a full professorship in law since 2004. Taking a break from his university career in 2016, Coach Jerome returned to his first passion: volleyball. He holds certifications in volleyball coaching from the Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) for indoor and beach volleyball, and created volleyball academies at Stamford American School and United World College.
