Ready to create something beautiful with your own two hands? Students will review foundational hand-building techniques including pinching, colling and slab before learning new, higher-level skills necessary for a life-long appreciation in ceramics!
We will do a variety of projects, and the kids will get to touch, shape, paint and bring home their pieces of art. All Supplies Included: Clay, sculpting tools, and finishing glazes/paints are all provided—just bring your curiosity!
Clay Studio II is open to all skill-levels, but will focus on more advanced and detailed techniques for older students. For younger (Gr 1-3)/less experienced students, we recommend Clay Studio I.
About the Instructor
Passionate about art from a very young age, Mme Floriane had the chance to go to the best Arts schools in France, including ESAG Penninghen, Olivier de Serre and les Gobelins. She then worked as a Graphic Designer for advertising agencies and became Art Director and Illustrator for a French book editor. She has illustrated about 20 children's books that are still being sold in France. She moved to Chicago 7 years ago, where she spent some time working as a freelance Art Director, before returning to her main passion, illustration, and started giving lessons to kids, which she loves!
Students registered for this atelier can stay at school until 6pm by registering for the Extended day option.
