Friendship clubs focus on verbal skills, connections with others, and

expressing ourselves and our emotions in a safe and healthy way.

These clubs will develop students' imaginations and build their verbal

skills as they learn and grow.

Mondays: Storybook Stars

Storytime shines in this interactive club! Students will discover fun and exciting stories about friendship, kindness, feelings and more. Guiding questions and prompts will help students to share what they think will happen next and express their opinions and feelings too. To wrap up, they'll do a craft or other activity to explore the story's lesson or message.

Tuesdays: Science Stories 

Each week, this club starts with a story and leads to scientific discovery! Students will explore a new story each week and then experience the science within through amazing science experiments and hands-on projects. Students will develop their verbal and logic skills as they learn how to make predictions and share their own experiences.

Wednesdays: Once Upon a Time​​

Dress up, crafts, and imaginations will run wild in this story-based atelier! ​Students will have fun learning about fairytales, nursery rhymes and folktales that inspire interactive games and crafts. They will express themselves through costume choices, building stories and using their imaginations to make believe and recreate their favorite stories. Students will also love playing theatre-inspired games like animal impressions, magic rocks, Simon Says, and more! ​

Thursdays: Little Builders

Students will use a variety of building materials to think like scientists as they build models and experiment and test ideas to answer questions. Students will get the chance to experiment with the materials provided before putting their problem-solving and collaboration skills to work through a new mini-challenge each week.

Fridays: Nature Club 

Come explore the plants and animals of Chicago and beyond in this hands-on exploration. We'll make nature art with real leaves, plant seeds, discover animals and insects in the neighborhood.
